PHOENIX — Phoenix police have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing his wife.
Authorities say around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, 22-year-old Elijah Coffman called 911 to report that he had shot his wife inside their north Phoenix apartment near Princess Drive and Scottsdale Road.
When officers arrived they found Coffman outside of his apartment and he was taken into custody.
The victim, his 22-year-old wife, was found dead inside.
Police said during an interview Coffman admitted to shooting her during a confrontation inside the apartment.
He has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail and is being charged with second-degree murder.
The victim's identity has not been released.
