Arrest made in north Phoenix homicide investigation

PHOENIX — An arrest has been made in connection to a homicide investigation in north Phoenix.

Phoenix police say on Friday, 69-year-old Nasra Mani was found dead at her home on Oberlin Way, near Jomax Road and Interstate 17.

Investigators said she was the victim of an apparent homicide and started an investigation. Details about how she might have died haven't been released.

On Sunday, police announced the arrest of 34-year-old Nashwan Yousif. He is said to be the son of the victim.

He was taken into custody and interviewed at Phoenix Police Headquarters. Detectives were able to develop probable cause that he committed the murder, according to Phoenix PD.

He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and charged with 2nd degree murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
