Kitten rescued from manhole after three days

Posted

The Arizona Humane Society and the City of Phoenix worked together to rescue a five-week-old kitten after three days stuck in a manhole. This happened near 35th Avenue and Greenway Road on Monday.

The AHS Emergency Animal Medical Technician Kelley Mollon, who rescued the kitten, was participating in her first rescue call as a trainee.

EAMT’s lowered food to the kitten named Tera several times during the three days, and kept an eye on her with a snake camera. You can watch video of the rescue HERE.

Tera was transported to an animal hospital and was in good health, aside from needing a bath. Tera weighs in at just one pound and is in foster care with Kelley as she gets ready for adoption in about three weeks.

Potential adopters can call 602.997.7585 in order to be put on a list for when Tera is ready for adoption.
