PHOENIX — A firefighter is recovering after suffering burn injuries fighting a house fire in Phoenix Saturday evening.
Phoenix firefighters say when crews arrived to the scene near 51st Avenue and Union Hills Drive, the fire had moved throughout the home and onto the back patio.
Firefighters used their saws to ventilate the home, allowing the trapped heat and fire to escape. Firefighters say they had complete control of the fire in about 15 minutes.
Crews say the family was already out of the home when firefighters got there. Officials say a firefighter suffered minor burns and was transported to the hospital in stable condition, but has since been released.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
