Dogs rescued from first-alarm apartment fire in Phoenix

Fire crews were able to control a first-alarm apartment fire in Phoenix.

Phoenix fire said the blaze spread to two apartments at an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

When crews arrived on the scene they encountered heavy smoke and the fire spread to a roof overhang.

Two dogs were reported missing during the fire, but firefighters were able to rescue both of them and bring them to safety.

There were no report of any injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
