A 3-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after being pulled from a north Phoenix pool on Saturday afternoon. He passed away at the hospital, officials said.

Police identified the boy Sunday as Donelle Williams Jr.

The boy was in full cardiac arrest, fire crews said.

The incident happened at a backyard pool at Tatum Boulevard and Union Hills Drive.

Phoenix fire officials said the boy was found by his grandparents; it's unknown how long he was underwater.

The boy was pronounced deceased once at the hospital, Phoenix police officials said.

The investigation continues, police said. Charges may be considered after the investigation is completed.

Other details are unavailable at the moment; stay with ABC15 for more.
