Ground stop lifted at Sky Harbor after fire alarm

PHOENIX — The control tower at Phoenix Sky Harbor was evacuated Friday morning due to a fire alarm.

A ground stop was also issued at the airport as firefighters responded but has since been lifted.

Airport officials said there were some diversions in effect due to the incident but everything is returning to normal.

Travelers are encouraged to check their flight status with their airline before heading to the airport.
