Police have identified a pregnant woman who died in a single-vehicle crash in Phoenix Sunday
The incident happened around 6 a.m. near 19th Avenue and Thomas Road.
Authorities say 39-year-old Anna Ruth Flores was driving eastbound and was trying to pass another driver when her car went off the road and struck a traffic pole.
Flores was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries. A male passenger, 23, suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, police said.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, Flores was 7-months pregnant and the baby did not survive.
Authorities believe speed was a factor in the crash. Police said impairment is also being investigated.
