Phoenix police say a woman is dead after a pedestrian-involved crash on Thursday night.

The crash happened near 16th Street and Broadway Road around 8:35 p.m.

Police say a pedestrian was seen near a bus stop and began to cross the street heading west. At that point, a northbound vehicle hit the pedestrian, causing serious injuries.

The pedestrian, a 38-year-old woman, was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. She was taken to the hospital where she died.

According to police, the 32-year-old woman driving the vehicle remained at the scene. Neither speed nor impairment are believed to be factors in the crash.
