A Valley family hopes video will help solve a hit-and-run case that left a teenager laid out on Camelback Road on Wednesday.
Preston Sandoval, 16, was on his motorcycle going westbound on Camelback Road near I-17 when a pick-up truck rear-ended him.
"I did not realize I was on the ground for that long," Sandoval said after watching his helmet video from the incident.
He suffered minor injuries and the damage to the motorcycle is minimal, but he wants the other driver to pay for the repair costs. The motorcycle represents his life savings, he said.
The truck initially stopped after the crash, and a passenger got out to help Sandoval. But when the teen walked his motorcycle to a safe area off the road, the truck drove away.
"Hopefully [they] realize the thing they did was wrong," Sandoval said.
Sandoval said he reported the case to Phoenix Police. Police information on the crash was not available on Thursday.
