Marissa Sanchez said she paid $400 to take her sister to the Tuesday night Adele show at Talking Stick Arena in downtown Phoenix.

But she and her sister did not get past the checkpoints because the tickets were fake, she said.

“I’m so hurt,” Sanchez said. She and her sister left the arena just as the concert was set to start.

A man named David Ramirez reportedly sold her sister the tickets in Tempe on Tuesday afternoon, she said. She found Ramirez on Craigslist.

Sanchez, a junior at Arizona State University, said she has worked double shifts to pay for the birthday present for her sister.

She plans to pursue criminal charges against Ramirez, who was not answering her calls Tuesday night, she said.

Scammers also tricked would-be concert-goers when Justin Bieber played Gila River Arena in Glendale earlier this year, fans told ABC15.

Football fans also bought fake tickets for a late-season Cardinals game last season at University of Phoenix Stadium, according to court documents.

Adele is set to play another show downtown Wednesday night.
