Phoenix police say 29-year-old Kory Wheeler and 25-year-old LC Rose stole an elderly woman’s purse and assaulted her near 30th Street and Indian School Road Tuesday night.
The two reportedly took off from the area and officers found them at an apartment complex near 16th Street and Northern Avenue.
When police approached the suspects, who were in their vehicle, Rose backed the car up towards them and grazed one of the officers. The officer wasn’t injured, but the suspects took off in their car.
Using air support and K-9 officers, the two were eventually found again near 16th Street and Butler Drive hiding in a backyard. They were taken into custody by officers and will be charged for aggravated robbery and criminal trespassing.
