After a northeast Phoenix park was recently targeted by vandals, ABC15 took action to help neighbors.

Reporter Melissa Blasius contacted city officials about graffiti, possible drug paraphernalia, and other destruction of the Indian Bend Wash Park. It's located near 36th Street and Thunderbird Road. Within hours, Phoenix city crews were already making repairs Wednesday.

Phoenix residents who have an issue with a park are encouraged to contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 602-262-6862 or send them a message online.  If they see criminal activity taking place, they should call the police.

Phoenix residents are also encouraged to call Phoenix's Graffiti Busters at 602-534-4444 to paint over or remove graffiti in their neighborhoods. Crews often respond within 24 hours. February is Graffiti Free Phoenix Awareness Month.
