Police say a suspect is in custody after a shooting with officers in Phoenix on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened near 19th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 8:30 p.m.

According to police, officers responded to a report of shots fired at a trailer park in the area.

As officers arrived, they reportedly found a 42-year-old man with a gun in each of his hands facing away from officers.

Police said the man then turned and pointed one of the guns at the officers, prompting them to fire at the suspect. He was also reportedly bitten by a police K-9.

The suspect was taken to the hospital and is going to survive, police said.

Police believe the suspect was in an argument wth his wife when he grabbed two guns and left their trailer. The suspect began firing multiple shots while outside and pointed the gun at his wife.

The name of the suspect has not been identified.

This marks the 33rd officer-involved shooting in the Valley in 2018.
