PHOENIX — St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix says they’re still 1,800 turkeys short of their goal for donations for this Thanksgiving.

The food bank says that because of increase in volume of families that need assistance, they may have to resort to distributing chicken by Wednesday instead of turkey if that number isn't met.

For context, St. Mary's says it handed out 4,858 turkeys on Monday alone.

If you'd like to help, you can still drop off turkey, canned food or a cash donation at two St. Mary's locations:

  • St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance – Phoenix at 2831 N. 31st Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009
  • St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance – Surprise at 13050 W. Elm Street, Surprise, AZ 85378

St. Mary's says Desert Financial is still matching all turkey donations through Wednesday.
