Sky Harbor International Airport says it's going to be busy in the next week or so with tens of thousands visitors arriving for college football's national title game and then departing afterward.
The game will be played Jan. 11 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
Airport officials' tips to travelers include reserving rental cars well in advance because there may be few vehicles available for walk-up customers.
As for arriving at Sky Harbor to board a flight, the advice is called 1-2-3. It calls for checking in at the ticket counter three hours before departure, going through TSA security checkpoints two hours ahead of flight time and arriving at the gate one hour beforehand.
Also, fans with college football playoff programs are advised to stow them in carry-on bags.
