Crews are resurfacing a 10-mile stretch of freeway in the Valley.
Interstate 17 is back open Monday after the Arizona Department of Transportation closed the northbound side over the weekend. However, drivers should plan on a similar closure almost every weekend until the middle of June.
The goal is to make your commute a lot smoother, as ADOT resurfaces a 10-mile stretch of freeway from Dunlap to 19th Avenue.
ADOT plans to keep the freeway open for the Memorial Day weekend, but besides that, drivers should plan on a portion of I-17 to close each weekend.
S.R. 51 is a good alternate to get around the closure.
