PHOENIX — A pursuit suspect crashed his car near State Route 143 and University Drive Tuesday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS says troopers began pursuit of the suspect who was speeding about a mile and a half away, around 12:00 p.m.
Troopers called off the pursuit just before the suspect exited at University, according to DPS.
The suspect then crashed into a woman who was attempting to make a turn at the intersection. That woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
DPS says the 18-year-old suspect has an outstanding warrant for DUI and a felony warrant for leaving the scene of an accident.
The suspect has also been taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
DPS identified him as Steven Jason Sleeper III.
