A prank call over a Phoenix police radio Wednesday night drew a police presence to the city's west side.

The hoax call indicated that an officer was hurt, according to Sgt. Trent Crump, a police spokesman.

The radio had apparently been stolen from a police car, Crump said. Crump did not know when or from what location the radio went missing.

A convenience store clerk said she saw an incredible show of force at 51st Avenue and Camelback Road.

The scene had cleared as of 10 p.m.
