The Phoenix Police Department is investigating after a deadly shooting near 19th and Adams streets.
According to police, 33-year-old Jubel Perkins Jr was located in the area with what appears to be a gunshot injury right after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said Wednesday morning that Perkins had died and that they were officially investigating it as a homicide.
According to police, Perkins arrived to a neighborhood in the area and was interacting with a group of black men when an argument broke out and he was shot.
Police say the suspect or suspects fled on foot from the area and have not been located.
Sgt. Jonathan Howard says there's no indication the case is linked to a series of unsolved shootings in the metro area.
