The Phoenix Police Department has released a sketch of the man wanted in connection with a shooting and crash last week.

Police have also identified the victim as 18-year-old Tayler Maggi and he is "fighting for his life," according to Sgt. James Holmes.

Investigators say Maggi was driving near Central and Alice avenues on Thursday when the suspect approached with a pistol. Maggi started to drive away and the suspect fired at his car. Maggi lost control and crossed a median before hitting a tree and some bushes on the west side of Central Avenue.

Police said they believe the suspect is driving an off-white Ford Mustang from the late 1990s or early 2000s with a small air scoop on the hood.

“Please pray,” said Maggi’s girlfriend, Lauren, at a Monday night prayer vigil for Tayler. Maggi remains unconscious at a local hospital, according to family.  Maggi’s mother has not left his side for more than 10 minutes since the incident, according to Maggi’s stepfather Jeff Thompson.

As of Monday night, a GoFundMe account in Tayler's name had raised more than $17,000.
