Phoenix Police: Motorcycle officer injured in crash Sunday afternoon

PHOENIX - Phoenix Police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle officer.

Police say the incident occurred near 52nd Street and Windsor Sunday afternoon.

According to authorities, 30-year-old Gregory Davis made an improper turn and hit the officer's motorcycle, causing him to crash. The 46-year-old officer was working traffic control for the Arizona Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. 

The suspect is accused of fleeing the scene but was arrested by police a short time later, officials said

The officer was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
