Police say a 28-year-old man has died after being shot Tuesday evening.
Phoenix police Sergeant Vince Lewis said officers responded to the area of 45th and Weldon avenues, just south of Indian School Road, around 9:45 p.m. to investigate.
Officers found the victim, who has not yet been identified other than by his age, and took him to a local hospital where he was declared dead.
Police say a red Ford Mustang was seen driving southbound on 45th Avenue at the time and shots were fired from the car toward the victim.
Officers stopped a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle's description, but Lewis said the people in that vehicle were questioned and released.
Police said the investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
