Phoenix authorities investigated an unattended item at the Chinese Cultural Center on Sunday night.
Authorities were called to the plaza located near 44th and Van Buren streets around 9 p.m. after receiving reports.
According to a Phoenix police spokesperson, an item was left outside of the medical center and "out of an extreme abundance of caution" officials investigated.
Businesses in the area chose to evacuate during the investigation.
