Phoenix police are investigating after officers found a juvenile girl with a gunshot wound Monday night.
Authorities responded to the area of 23rd Avenue and Highland Street around 9 p.m. for a reported shooting.
Witnesses told police the girl, a teenager, was walking on 23rd Ave. with friends when a white car with tinted windows stopped and fired at least one shot before driving off toward Camelback Avenue, according to Sgt. Trent Crump.
The girl's injury does not appear to be life threatening.
Law enforcement did not immediately have a description of the suspect.
