A Phoenix Police officer was taken to the hospital after being injured while trying to break up a fight Friday night.
Phoenix police say the officer observed two men in a physical fight near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road. When the officer tried to break up the fight, two other men pushed the officer from behind, forcing the officer's arm to go through the window of a vehicle.
The officer was taken to the hospital for treatment and was scheduled for surgery to remove debris and glass from his arm.
Police said Saturday that two suspects were taken into custody and questioned but later released because the officer could not identify them.
Officials are actively investigating and anyone with information is asked to call police or Silent Witness.
