A man was arrested in Phoenix after his wife exited their moving vehicle.

Court documents reveal that on November 22, Salvador Bruno was driving along the Interstate 17 access road near Cactus Road. While driving, he punched his wife several times in the face.

While their Chevy Astro van was moving about 45 MPH, the victim either jumped or was pushed out of the van.

The wife struck her head on the pavement knocking her unconscious. She remains at John C. Lincoln Hospital but is not expected to survive.

Bruno continued driving and was later confronted by police near Central Avenue and McDowell Road.  Police saw him threatening to commit suicide by placing a hand gun under his chin.

Instead of shooting himself he fired several shots out the windshield and roof of the van.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed that Bruno is in the Country illegally and therefore cannot legally possess a weapon.

Bruno is currently being held on a $10,000 cash bond for Illegally possessing a weapon. Possible other charges are pending.
