PHOENIX — A Phoenix man has been arrested, accused of shaking and squeezing an infant that resulted in severe injuries.
According to court paperwork, 21-year-old Aldo Yunior Jesus Rios-Perez was a primary caretaker for the three-month-old boy.
Rios-Perez allegedly squeezed and shook the child violently because he would not stop crying.
The mother of the boy took him to the hospital and told police how the injuries were allegedly committed while she was being questioned.
The infant was treated at the hospital and suffered from a subdural hematoma (bleeding outside the brain), broken ribs, a broken collarbone, skull fracture and a broken leg, among other injuries.
Rios-Perez allegedly admitted to officers that he shook the baby and squeezed him on at least two occasions because he was frustrated the child wouldn’t stop crying.
Rios-Perez has been arrested on four counts of child abuse.
