A Phoenix man on probation is back in custody after ditching his GPS monitoring device in Mesa last month.

On May 22, 37-year-old Alan Donato Feliciano cut off his monitoring device near Southern Avenue and Country Club Drive.

Police say the suspect was arrested on Wednesday for a probation violation.

According to authorities, the man posed as a flight risk because he talked about fleeing to Mexico or Cuba.

Feliciano was on probation after he was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender, aggravated DUI and taking the identity of another.

No information about his whereabouts were available.
