PHOENIX — A pedestrian is dead after a crash in Phoenix early Thursday morning.
Phoenix Police Department says the crash occurred around 1:40 a.m. near 36th Street and McDowell Road.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was said to be in the roadway, not at a crosswalk, at the time of the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Neither speed nor impairment are believed to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
