Officials are investigating after a teenager was struck on Interstate 17 on Sunday night.
The Department of Public Safety said a 13-year-old girl was hit on Northbound Interstate 17 at Buckeye Road.
She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. It is not known why she was on the freeway and no other details were released.
The northbound lanes were closed for several hours on Sunday but have since reopened.
