PD: Woman killed in crash near 19th Avenue and Polk Street

PHOENIX — Police say a crash involving several young people in Phoenix Wednesday night has turned deadly.

The single-vehicle crash occurred near 19th Avenue and Polk Street around 9 p.m.

Police say the vehicle, driven by a 20-year-old man, was headed southbound on 19th Avenue when, for an unknown reason, it collided with a block wall.

Three passengers, a 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl, and a 21-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The 21-year-old passenger, identified as Victoria Dukepoo, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver was not seriously hurt and was not impaired at the time of the crash. It’s unknown why the driver lost control of the car.
