PHOENIX — Phoenix police are looking for a vehicle involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian Wednesday night.
Officers were called to the area of 38th Place and McDowell Road around 9:30 p.m. for reports that a person was struck by a car.
“Witnesses reported seeing the victim jump into traffic on McDowell Road as he tried to cross the street,” police say. A vehicle traveling eastbound on McDowell Road struck the pedestrian and failed to stop after the collision.
The pedestrian, a 50-year-old man who has not yet been named by police, was pronounced dead.
Police say the vehicle involved is described as a red SUV.
