Phoenix Police say a 31-year-old man is in custody after a barricade incident involving a girl reported missing out of Glendale.
Police responded to a home near 21st Street and Indian School Road on Tuesday morning to serve a search warrant regarding a man wanted in an investigation into sexual conduct with a minor. Police say the suspect, identified as Evert Velasquez, and a 14-year-old girl were barricaded in the home threatening to harm themselves.
The victim finally exited the apartment around 2:30 p.m. and shortly after, Velasquez also exited the home.
The girl was returned to custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety and Velasquez was booked into jail on numerous charges, including four counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
