Pedestrian killed crossing street in Phoenix Saturday believed to be under the influence of alcohol

Phoenix police confirm a pedestrian was hit and killed Saturday night near 7th Street and the Loop 101.

The incident happened around 9 p.m.

Police say the person was not in a crosswalk, and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The driver that hit the victim stayed on scene and cooperated with police. The driver was not under the influence of any alcohol.

Traffic was restricited in the area for several hours but has since reopened.

No additional information has been released.
