Authorities have given the all-clear after a suspicious item was found inside Terminal 4 of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Sunday.

The security checkpoints in front of concourses B and C were closed as a precaution while police investigated, according to the airport.

Westbound traffic to the terminal along Sky Harbor Boulevard was also restricted, according to spokesperson Heather Lissner. She said some flights may also be delayed as a result and asked for those flying to check their flight's status with their airline.

Officials advised travelers to use checkpoints A and D and access the terminal from the west.

The situation was resolved about an hour later and officials said all normal operations resumed around 3:45 p.m.

A message seeking further information about the item was not immediately returned.
