A 67-year-old man was killed in a late Friday collision State Route 51 just south of Indian School Road.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, three vehicles collided on the freeway.
A car swerved from one lane to another in order to avoid a collision, but when it swerved it struck a motorcycle. The rider was thrown off of the motorcycle, and was then struck by another car.
Officials say Michael Martel, the rider of the motorcycle, died from his injuries.
DPS is investigating the incident.
