Misty Lee Wilke, accused of hitting her boyfriend with her car in Phoenix, has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison and three years of probation.

Wilke told police in April of 2016 that she was upset with her boyfriend because he had just told her he was HIV positive. Wilke told police he was laughing about it, and it frustrated her.

During their fight the victim allegedly pulled out a knife and cut Wilke before she pushed him away and got in her car. Police say they did find a small cut on Wilke’s arm.

While speeding away, she says she hit something but didn’t know it was him.

Witnesses, however, said Wilke was circling the victim in her vehicle and taunting him before she sped up and hit him. The victim was seriously injured but survived.
