A custodian at a Phoenix middle school who accused of spying on girls in a locker room has been sentenced to 10 years of supervised probation.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 32-year-old Daniel Aitken was sentenced Tuesday for two counts of attempted voyeurism.

Aitken was arrested in October 2015 at Mountain Sky Middle School.

Phoenix police say Aitken was caught looking through an old laundry chute, which goes into the girls' locker room at the school.

They say surveillance video showed Aitken moving the shelving to block the chute.

Court records show Aitken told police investigators that he had been spying on the locker room for about a month before he was arrested.
