A motorist accused of running a red light in east Mesa and causing an accident that killed two people has pleaded guilty to two counts of negligent homicide.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Ingrid Morataya also pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of aggravated assault.

She's scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 9.

Authorities say the 37-year-old Morataya was driving her SUV about 90 mph at the time of the June 2014 crash.

She was booked into jail on suspicion of manslaughter, aggravated DUI and other charges after she was discharged from a hospital for treatment of a broken vertebrae.

A Mesa police officer noted signs of impairment when he examined Morataya after the crash.

Court documents show Morataya has a history of driving under the influence and related convictions.
