A man suffered burns Wednesday morning after hitting power lines with a crane, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Officials said the 23-year-old man was guiding a metal pole that was being moved into place by a small crane near 52nd Street and Dynamite Boulevard around 8:30 a.m. when the crane hit the overhead power lines, causing the electricity to transfer down to the worker.
The man suffered first and second-degree burns to his legs, but was awake and talking when paramedics arrived, fire officials said. He is now being monitored at a burn center.
