Phoenix police are looking for an individual who struck a 63-year-old man with a baseball bat while trying to steal his keys.

According to Silent Witness, around 5 p.m. on Feb. 22, the victim was walking in the area of Metro Center mall near I-17 and Dunlap Avenue when a man approached him.

He reportedly demanded the victim's keys and hit him, and when the victim refused, he then struck him with a baseball bat.

Surveillance video shows a man resembling the victim's description of the suspect purchasing a similar bat at a nearby store earlier that day.

Police are looking for a 25-year-old Hispanic man, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes and was wearing a backpack.

At this time, police say the person in the surveillance footage is a person of interest who may know something about the incident.
