A man has been sentenced to jail for threatening to harm Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said 43-year-old Ruben Pena Jr. was arrested for stalking Sheriff Arpaio and writing a threatening letter, which caused a bomb sweep in downtown Phoenix in December 2015.

According to MCSO, Pena claimed to be “Jesus Christ” and made visits to MCSO headquarters asking to speak to Arpaio.

Pena has been sentenced to six months in jail. He was also sentenced to three years probation for stalking.
