Man riding motorized bike hospitalized after being struck by car in Phoenix

A man riding a motorized bicycle was hospitalized Thursday night after being struck by a car in Phoenix.

Officers were called to Bethany Home Road and Central Avenue shortly before 9 p.m., a Phoenix Police spokesperson said.

According to officials, the victim didn’t have lights or visible reflectors on the bike at the time of the crash. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with officers.

Bethany Home Road is closed from Central Avenue to 3rd Street while the officers investigate the scene.

Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have played a role in the accident.
