Phoenix police say a man drowned in a pool at an apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

Authorities were called to an apartment complex near 46th Street and Thomas Road around 2 p.m. after receiving reports that a 26-year-old man was found in the pool.

A Phoenix Fire spokesperson says the man was pulled from the pool and wasn't breathing. He also did not have a pulse.

Authorities at the scene say the victim and two women were drinking alcohol near the pool when the man is believed to have become extremely intoxicated and passed out.

Several bottles of vodka were recovered near the pool and the two women who were with the man were questioned by officials.

The victim's name hasn't been released and an investigation is ongoing at this time.
