Police say a man possibly sleeping in a Phoenix parking lot was hit and killed on Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred near Central Avenue and Thomas Road around 6:30 a.m.
Phoenix police officials say the victim was believed to have been sleeping in the parking lot and the driver did not realize anyone was under the vehicle when she pulled into the spot. The driver reportedly told officers that she struck an object that she thought was debris.
Police say the victim was wrapped in a blanket and not immediately identifiable as a person until they got a closer look.
Officers located the driver of the truck at a nearby business and she is cooperating with investigators.
