PHOENIX — A baby javelina is recovering Monday night after he and his friend got loose on State Route 51.
Department of Public Safety troopers say they had to halt rush hour traffic to safely secure the animal.
The other javelina was able to get off the freeway on its own. Once it left the freeway, troopers worked on getting the one captured, said DPS Sgt. Kameron Lee.
Troopers say they transported the javelina to the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center where it will receive medical treatment.
