Hydration stations around the Valley during extreme heat warning on July 22 and July 23, 2016

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for the weekend, prompting safety concerns for people around the Valley.

As a common response, The Salvation Army is setting up a dozen hydration stations around the Valley.

On Friday, July 22, cold bottled water and safety information will be available at the following locations:

  • SW corner of 16th Street and Jefferson ( 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Glendale Corps: 6010 W. Northern Ave., Glendale (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • Sun City Corps: 17420 N. Avenue of the Arts Blvd. Surprise (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • Apache Junction Corps: 605 East Broadway Road, Apache Junction (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • Estrella Mountain Corps: 11 North 3rd Ave., Avondale (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

In addition to water and safety information, the following locations will also provide a break from the heat on Friday:

  • 2707 E. Washington St., Phoenix (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Phoenix Citadel: 632 N. 3rd Ave (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Tempe Corps: 741 S Myrtle Ave., Tempe, (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Phoenix Central Corps: 4343 N. 16th St., Phoenix, (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Phoenix Maryvale Corps: 4318 W. Clarendon Ave., Phoenix, (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  • Chandler Corps: 85 E. Saragosa St., Chandler, (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  • Mesa Corps: 241 E. 6th St., Mesa, (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

For relief on Saturday, July 23, the following locations will be open:

  • SW corner 16th St. and Jefferson (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • 2707 E. Washington St., Phoenix (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Phoenix Citadel: 632 N. 3rd Ave (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
