PHOENIX — Hot tar that spilled from a truck caused a traffic headache for drivers in Phoenix Monday morning.
Arizona Department of Public Safety says a 24-ton truck leaked hot tar onto the southbound lanes of Interstate 17 near 7th Avenue.
The tanker was moved off the road, but the spill affected traffic in the right lane, off-ramp and frontage road for several hours. The area has since been cleared.
Talk about a HOT MESS! I-17 SB @ 7th Ave, 24-ton tanker still leaking hot tar. Lanes, entrance/exit ramp blocked. Use I-10. Two other issues: I-17 SB crash @ Grant. SR-51 NB @ Highland, car fire. Use Bethany Home or Indian School. @abc15
