Get the family out of the house for free!

If you haven't heard of CREATE at Arizona Science Center, now is the time for you to pay attention because it truly is a one of a kind place for the whole family to get creative.

They have all sorts of free activities — as well as workshops that will teach kids, 13 and older, skills that will not only keep them entertained, but also skills that can earn them a little extra cash.

They have workshops for all sorts of hands-on activities including sewing, woodworking, 3D laser printing and laser cutting. You can actually cut, saw, code, hammer, paint and so much more.

The workshops are weekly and available to ages 13-17 with a guardian or parent present.

On Friday, Oct. 7, you can get a real idea of everything they have to offer during their DIY Halloween First Friday event.

It's Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and it's free for all ages.

They will offer demos on DIY Halloween projects including costuming, décor and special effects. You will even have a chance to make your own fright-tastic makeup. How cool is that?
